Reflecting and Resetting: Using End-of -Year Insights to Strengthen Classroom Management for Next Year
As the school year winds down, it’s the perfect time to reflect on what worked well in your classroom—and how to carry those wins into the next year. Taking time now to review your classroom management strategies can lead to even stronger outcomes when school starts back up.
Celebrate Behavior Growth
Before the final bell rings, take a moment to recognize how far your students have come. Have your students improved their ability to follow class expectations? Are they more consistent in raising hands, using kind words, or working with teams? These are all big wins worth celebrating!
Reflect on What Worked and What Didn’t
Now is also a great time to reflect on your own classroom practices. Jot down notes on what helped your class thrive and what you might want to tweak.
Pack with Purpose
As you tidy your classroom, keep behavior supports in mind. Store visuals, expectation posters, and group point chart where they’ll be easy to find. If you created custom materials or routines, snap photos or save digital copies now so they’re ready to go next year.
Summer To-Do: A Gentle Reset
You don’t need a full overhaul—just a reset. Consider one small change or new strategy you’d like to try in the new school year. Maybe it’s starting CW-FIT earlier in the year, using timers more effectively, or setting a goal to increase behavior-specific praise. One intentional improvement can make a big difference.
Looking Ahead
We’re proud of the progress CW-FIT classrooms have made this year. Your commitment to teaching prosocial behaviors, offering timely praise, and creating structured, positive environments has a lasting impact on your students.
Enjoy a restful, well-deserved summer—and we’ll be back with more support and ideas to help you start strong next year!
