Developers of CW-FIT received initial Institute of Education Sciences (IES) funding for for an efficacy and replication study of CW-FIT in 2007. The four-year study conduct initial efficacy trials of CW-FIT within elementary schools located in the state of Kansas. During the initial efficacy project, teachers using CW-FIT demonstrated strong implementation fidelity of the intervention and demonstrated CW-FIT as an effective classroom management tool. Specific social validation of the CW-FIT intervention included teachers and administrators reporting CW-FIT as easy to implement both class-wide and with students in need of tier-two classroom positive behavioral supports. Results illustrated CW-FIT working to improve students' on-task behavior during classroom instruction and learning activities. Students also reported enjoying CW-FIT and stated the intervention helped them to focus on instruction during tough academic lessons. Powerful results from the first efficacy trial warranted IES to fund a second, larger-scale study spanning across three additional states. If you are interested in learning more about schools and classroom teachers implementing CW-FIT in your region, please contact CW-FIT staff at Kansas University's Juniper Garden Children's Project.

In 2012, IES funded a second CW-FIT efficacy trial across three additional states to study implementation of CW-FIT across multiple sites. Initial outcomes from this second, large-scale efficacy study demonstrate promising results. The three universities that have collaborated are from these regions (Kansas, Missouri, Utah and Tennessee). CW-FIT has reached over 1,600 students across hundreds of classroom in schools around the nation. If you want to learn more about schools in your region implementing the CW-FIT intervention, please contact CW-FIT Research Staff.

CW-FIT offers a library of instructional video-models to support teachers implementing the intervention within their classroom. While CW-FIT is currently under an efficacy trial, materials must be password protected to ensure the fidelity of the research project. If you have received training from a Kansas University's Juniper Gardens Children's Project Research Partner, you may become a CW-FIT member and request a password from your local research partner to access this library along with additional materials to continue supporting your use of the CW-FIT intervention within your classroom or school. If you have not yet received on-site training from a CW-FIT Research Partner, please contact CW-FIT staff at Kansas University's Juniper Garden Children's Project to learn more about bringing CW-FIT to your students.
CW-FIT was designed incorporating research-based components. When all elements of CW-FIT are implemented adhering to fidelity procedure, CW-FIT demonstrates effective results at the student and classroom level. To ensure CW-FIT implementation fidelity, initial on-site training and on-going coaching supports are required. Once your site had completed the initial training, CW-FIT staff encourages teachers and schools administrators to access the training materials in an effort to support ongoing use of the intervention. If you have received training from a Kansas University's Juniper Gardens Children's Project Research Partner, you may become a member CW-FIT and request a password from your local CW-FIT Research Partner to support the continued use of the intervention within your classroom or school. Please contact CW-FIT staff at Kansas University's Juniper Garden Children's Project if you have not received training and are interested in learning more about CW-FIT.
CW-FIT Classroom Supplies
After you have received CW-FIT training and coaching from a CW-FIT Research Partner to implement CW-FIT with your students, you understand the importance of using CW-FIT materials to support on-going use of the intervention. Posters, goal charts, reinforcement assessments and menus, and self-management materials are all critical components of the CW-FIT intervention. To ensure you continue to adhere to fidelity of implementation procedures, the CW-FIT Classroom Materials are available for you to download, for use in your classroom. In an effort to complete needed CW-FIT research activities to support the future goal of making CW-FIT available to more schools, teachers and students, CW-FIT staff and CW-FIT Research Partners may only provide access to these materials to research participants randomly selected to implement CW-FIT and to all teachers who participate in the on-site training once the study is completed within your school. Once trained by a Kansas University's Juniper Gardens Children's Project Research Partner, you may become a CW-FIT member and request a password from your local research partner, to access CW-FIT materials in and effort to support your continued use of the CW-FIT intervention. If you have not yet received on-site training from a CW-FIT Research Partner, please contact CW-FIT staff at Kansas University's Juniper Garden Children's Project to learn more about bringing CW-FIT to your students.
